How to submit Meter readings online
Residents can submit readings of their meters to WhatsApp – 083 783 6379 or via Go Muni – Laingsburg Portal.
Physical readings are done on a monthly basis by the municipality’s meter readers who visits properties to take water and electricity readings on Mondays to Friday between 07:30 am and 16:00 pm. For identification purposes, the meter readers will be carrying a identification card and will be wearing a branded navy blue shirt, and navy blue overall pants with safety boots.
When you send your meter reading on WhatsApp; include the accountholder’s name, contact details and Laingsburg Municipal account number, date of reading and attach photo of meter. Please note that meter readings are done per area at different times of the month, and it is important that your meter reading is submitted around the same time as your area’s reading time. Please check the date of the previous reading on your account to determine your meter reading slot.
Submit your meter reading using the Go Muni – Laingsburg Portal.
- Go to the home page of Go Muni Laingsburg Portal
- Tap on the Self Meter Readings option
- Complete all relevant fields on the form
- Once done click “submit”
Residents can easily determine how much water is used – deducting the current reading from the previous reading will tell you how many units of water have been used. Water charges are based on the number of kilolitres of water used on the property every month. If your bill seems incorrect or suspiciously high, it is most likely due to:
- Water Leak
- Human Error
